The Engler Entrepreneurship Program builds long-lasting entrepreneurship opportunities in Nebraska and the Midwest through purpose-driven entrepreneurship and experiential learning. A program based on UNL’s east campus, Engler provides fast-paced courses and modules, while also staking a deep-rooted community aspect. Engler is a Statewide Sponsor of The Combine Incubator, an AgTech startup program.
The Engler Program was established almost 11 years ago when Paul F. Engler, renowned cattleman and founder of Cactus Feeders, invested in students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Paul, a native of Bassett, Nebraska, and alumni of UNL, invested in his home state and beyond. It is Paul’s vision that students who graduate from this program return to their communities inspired to build sustainable businesses. Paul Engler believes that young people can create a positive, lasting impact on this state and the world.
With an active alumni program and over 150 active collegiate members, the Engler Program is building people, businesses, and communities in the midwest and beyond. Offering a unique educational experience, students receive extreme ownership in their learning. Modules are short, focused, and intense one-credit courses built around a single subject. Some topics include E-Commerce, negotiation, family entrepreneurship, time management, digital storytelling, and business structure and taxes.
Courses that operate throughout the semester focus on different areas. These areas include developing the entrepreneurial mindset, $50 business class, and enterprise development I and II.

Invest Nebraska’s Combine Incubator is a statewide initiative focused on supporting high-growth agri-food entrepreneurs through mentoring, commercialization support, physical incubation space on Nebraska's Innovation Campus, and a network of supporting farmers and ranchers across the state. Invest Nebraska is a private, non-profit statewide venture development organization focused on high-growth companies in Nebraska and growing the state’s entrepreneurial economy.
