Hamilton's roots began back in 1901 as a local telephone cooperative known as, Hamilton County Farmers Telephone Association. Over the years, they started offering a variety of services which lead to the adoption of their current name, Hamilton Telecommunications, in 1995. Its headquarters are still located in Aurora, Nebraska, but its reach is far more than that. Now, there is a second retail office located in Grand Island, Nebraska, and relay locations all across the country. As of 2021, they expanded their reach to include 3,272 square miles of service in Central Nebraska.
